The Election Commission has recommended that the Government of Nepal declare a public holiday on March 4, 5, and 6 to encourage voter participation in the upcoming elections.

The Commission stated that the holiday would help citizens easily reach polling stations and exercise their voting rights, creating a conducive environment for the electoral process.

It is expected to benefit employees, students, and private-sector workers, making it easier for them to take part in voting.

Officials believe this move could lead to an increase in voter turnout.

The government will make a final decision on the recommendation in an upcoming cabinet meeting.
