Royal Enfield To Set Up Assembly Lines In Nepal
Royal Enfield plans to establish assembly operations in Nepal and Bangladesh to expand its international presence and enhance its market share globally. Having assembly operations in several international markets has helped the company in developing its supply chain and sourcing local components. The company is also focused on expanding its presence in adjacent segments of its existing models and increasing market share in North America, Latin America, the APAC region, Bangladesh, Nepal, and Europe.
Royal Enfield, has revealed its plan to expand its international presence and strengthen its global footprints with plans to establish assembly operations in Nepal and Bangladesh, according to the company’s CEO, B Govindarajan. With a presence in over 40 countries, Royal Enfield is focused on gaining market share and enhancing its share in the markets and segments it currently serves, riding on the back of record exports last fiscal year.
Royal Enfield has gained a market share of approximately 8.1 percent in the North American region, 9 percent in the Asia-Pacific region, and almost 10 percent in the EMEA (Europe, the Middle East, and Africa) region, owing to its J-Series super-refined engine. The company has been witnessing a growth rate of 20-25 percent in international markets over the last five years, and for the year 2022-23, it posted record exports of 100,055 units, up 23 percent from the previous year, and a 39 percent growth in total sales, reaching a record 834,895 units.
In the new fiscal year, Royal Enfield is focused on expanding its presence in North America, Latin America, the APAC region, Bangladesh, Nepal, and Europe. The company is also looking at adjacent segments of its existing models, but it did not elaborate on new product plans.
