‘Operation Safety’ over the night: Five gangsters arrested; 18 held from airport

Kathmandu : The Kathmandu Police have arrested five gangsters and goons from different places of the Valley by conducting ‘Operation Safety’ last night.

Likewise, 18 persons causing trouble and harassment to passengers at the airport have also been taken into custody.

Spokesperson at the District Police Office Kathmandu, SP Pawan Bhattarai informed that the police conducted ‘Operation Safety Kathmandu’ last night and arrested Praveen Tamang, known as ‘Dimple’, for his alleged involvement in gang activities with the Shyam Lama group in Boudha.

Similarly, Birju Maharjan, accused of gang activities in Kalanki-Bafal area of Kathmandu, Sujan Karki, involved in gang activities around the Kalanki bus ticket counter-petrol pump area, Saru Humagain, involved in gang activities in Syuchatar area, and Biki Lama, involved in loot and gang activities in Boudha, were arrested, Bhattarai said.

Meanwhile, spokesperson Bhattarai added that 18 people causing trouble to passengers at Tribhuvan International Airport, taking them to hotels they knew and receiving commissions from passengers and hotels, were also arrested that night.
Bhattarai shared ten of them were found involved in taking commissions from passengers and misbehaving them.
