Kathmandu : The Nepali Congress has asked its former vice president Purna Bahadur Khadka to provide a clarification within seven days over alleged disciplinary violations.

A meeting of the party’s Disciplinary Committee on Tuesday concluded that Khadka had acted against the party’s statute by using the official letterhead to exercise authority he did not hold. The incident reportedly occurred on March 30.

The committee also recalled that Khadka had earlier issued a statement on March 14 using the party’s letterhead, for which he had already been warned.

In a separate decision, the committee extended the deadline for lodging complaints against those accused of violating party discipline during the February 21 House of Representatives election. The new deadline has been set for the end of the Nepali month of Baisakh.
