काठमाडौँ : धेरै मानिसहरूले तौल घटाउन चिनीरहित मिठाई (सुगर फ्री स्वीटनर) प्रयोग गर्छन्। यो तपाईंको स्वास्थ्यका लागि खतरनाक हुन सक्ने विश्व स्वास्थ्य संगठन (डब्ल्यूएचओ) ले चेतावनी दिएको छ।
संगठनले शरीरको तौल नियन्त्रण गर्न वा नसर्ने रोगको जोखिम कम गर्न चिनीरहित मिठाईको प्रयोग नगर्न चेतावनी दिएको छ। चिनीरहित मिठाईको प्रयोगले वयस्क वा बच्चाहरूमा शरीरको तौल घटाउनका लागि कुनै फाइदा नगरेको प्रमाणका समीक्षा गर्दै उसले यस्तो जानकारी दिएको हो।
चिनीरहित मिठाईको दीर्घकालीन प्रयोगले खानपान र जीवनशैलीका कारण हुने मधुमेह, मुटु रोग र वयस्कहरूमा मृत्युदरको जोखिम बढेको पाइएको उसको भनाइ छ।
डब्ल्यूएचओका पोषण र खाद्य सुरक्षा निर्देशक फ्रान्सिस्को ब्रान्काले खाना वा पेय पदार्थमा मिसिएको कुनै पनि प्रकारको मिठाईको साटो चिनीरहित मिठाई प्रयोग गर्दा लामो समयसम्म पनि तौल घटाउन मद्दत नगर्ने बताए।
मानिसहरूले अन्य विकल्प सोच्नुपर्ने स्वास्थ्य संगठनको भनाइ छ। उदाहरणका लागि प्राकृतिक रूपमा गुलियोपन भएका फलफूल र पेय पदार्थ खाने।
ब्रान्काले विज्ञप्तिमार्फत चिनीरहित मिठाई आहारको आवश्यक तत्व नभएको र पोषणको दृष्टिकोणले यसको कुनै मूल्य नभएको बताएका छन्। मानिसहरूले आफ्नो स्वास्थ्य सुधार गर्न जीवनको सुरुदेखि नै आफ्नो आहारमा गुलियोको मात्रा कम गर्नुपर्छ।
