Kathmandu: In the general elections held in France, the alliance of left-wing parties The New Popular Front seems to be winning.
It is seen that the alliance will be number one in the initial trend of vote counting. According to the international media, it is certain that the New Popular Front will be in the top position and lead the government in the election, where no party or alliance can get a majority.
The alliance was ranked second in the first round of voting. The exit polls published before the counting of votes started predicted that the Left Alliance will win 172 to 192 seats in the National Assembly, Macro’s party will win 150 to 170 seats, and National Rally will win 132 to 152 seats.
In the 577-member National Assembly, 289 seats must be won for a majority. With the left coalition in the lead, leader Jean-Luc Melesho has announced that Palestine will be recognized as a country under his leadership.
Spain, Norway, Ireland and Slovenia have recognized Palestine as a country after the leftist parties won the elections. Meanwhile, some violent incidents have taken place in the capital Paris as the left coalition seems to be heading for victory. According to the BBC, there have been incidents of vandalism and damage to public property.
