Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon” actress Cheng Pei-Pei passed away

Hong Kong. Actress Cheng Pei-Pei, best known for her martial arts roles in movies like ‘Come Drink With Me’ and ‘Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon’, has passed away. She was 78 years old.
Her family posted on Facebook on Friday that he passed away on July 17. According to the family, she was living with a rare disease called Corticobasal Degeneration (CBD).
Born in Shanghai in 1946, Cheng studied ballet at school before moving to Hong Kong as a teenager. She then attended a performing arts training course at Shaw Brothers Studios, a film production company. It is known for its Kung Fu film genre.
This inspired Cheng to establish his acting career in Shaw Brothers films. She played the role of a dancer in the historical drama ‘The Last Woman of Song’ in 1964.
Her breakthrough role came two years later, when she starred as a skilled martial artist in the action-crime classic, Come Drink With Me.
Cheng moved to the United States in 1971 after her marriage. She and her husband had four children but eventually divorced.
Before she returned to Hong Kong in the 1990s, she played the villainous fighter Jed Fox in the Oscar-winning film Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon.
