Defense budget is one third of the budget in Russia

Moscow,  Russian President Vladimir Putin has passed a record defense budget. The government has allocated a third of its total spending to the defense budget.

For 2025, Russia has allocated 1 trillion 26 billion dollars (135 billion rubles) for the defense sector. This is 32.5 percent of the government’s total spending.

This is 28 billion dollars more than the budget passed last time. But for the year 2026 and 2027, the estimated budget is a little less. The budget has been approved by both houses of the Russian parliament. Agency
