RAFAH. The United Nations (UN) has accused the Israeli army of killing 15 Palestinian doctors in southern Gaza.
The UN claims that all doctors were killed and buried in a mass grave. Their bodies were reportedly buried where damaged ambulances were found. Israeli army bulldozers are also said to have trampled the bodies of doctors and ambulances. The UN says Israel has killed more than 100 civil defense workers and more than 1,000 health workers since the war in Gaza began 18 months ago.
The Palestinian Red Crescent has accused the workers and their vehicles of having clear medical markings. Despite this, Israeli soldiers are said to have killed them in a brutal manner. Meanwhile, the Israeli army said it opened fire on unidentified suspicious vehicles. The dead included eight Red Crescent workers, six members of the Gaza Civil Defense Emergency Unit and a staff member of the UN agency for the Palestinians.
The International Committee of the Red Cross/Red Crescent said it was the deadliest attack on its staff in eight years. The Israeli army launched an offensive on the Tel al-Sultan district of Rafah on March 23. Emergency teams arrived in the afternoon to evacuate the injured, but they disappeared. Agency
