Kathmandu: Nepal government on Saturday decided to cut fuel prices substantially amid growing public pressure over rising prices of goods and services.

As a result, the prices of petrol and diesel shall be cut by 20 Nepali rupees  and 29 rupees ( per liter respectively from Saturday midnight, Minister for industry, commerce and supplies Dilendra Prasad Badu told the media.  As per the new decision, petrol now will cost Rs 179 per litre and diesel will cost Rs163 per litre. The new decision will come into effect from Saturday midnight. According to NOC, the government imposed Rs 65.61 in taxes on every litre of petrol sold at Rs 199.
