Kathmandu: Omicron subspecies ‘BF.1’ confirmed in two people for the first time in Nepal . A new subspecies of the Omicron variant, ‘BF.1’ was confirmed during testing at the Dhulikhel hospital lab. According to the hospital, while testing 22 samples of confirmed COVID-19 infection, ‘BF.1’ was confirmed in two people. This subspecies has been declared a ‘Variant of Concern’ by the World Health Organization.
