A Piece of Bread
A Poem by Angela Kosta
A piece of bread
To fill your stomach
For day and night;
Life Partner,
Who screams miserable existence,
Wait, just wait,
It will end in a short time!
To be born
Defeated by cruel fate
Whose fault is all this?
Am I guilty of myself?
Were we unwanted by God?
Have we come to the wrong world?
I want,
Indomitable appetite, carelessness
disappear in abundance
To make us rejoice in Inopia;
I wish,
I live in the clouds and fill yourself with air in the universe,
Till now the heat is rising from the sun
Don’t feel the frozen blood,
My brothers’ faint heartbeats,
Pale, Cracked lips,
Like the ground beneath your feet;
Piece of bread,
Don’t fall apart!
Where is Jesus who multiplied you?
No answer !
All I have except this piece of bread is
The wealth of my days!
