New Delhi. The United Nations has stated in its report that 19 percent of the world’s children live in conflict-affected areas and 472 million are displaced due to conflict and violence.
In a study released on Saturday, the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) highlighted ongoing conflicts in areas such as Palestine, Myanmar, Haiti and Sudan and said the world is facing the worst conflict since World War II.
The United Nations has confirmed that more children have died in the first nine months of 2024 than in 2023, as thousands of children have been killed and injured in the conflicts in Gaza and Ukraine.
According to the report, at least 17 thousand 492 children have died in Gaza in the last 15 months due to the conflict between Israel and Palestine.
Meanwhile, UNICEF Executive Director Catherine Russell said 2024 will be the worst year on record for children in conflict.
