At least 21 people killed, over 40 injured in massive explosion at mosque in Afghan capital Kabul

In Afghanistan, a massive explosion ripped through a mosque in Kabul yesterday evening, leaving at least 21 dead and more than 40 injured. The blast took place during the evening prayers at the mosque situated in the Khairkhana area of Kabul.

The death toll is likely to rise further. The explosion was so powerful that it shattered the windows of nearby houses.

The Imam of the mosque was among those killed. So far, no group has claimed responsibility for the blast. A spokesman for the Taliban said it strongly condemned the attack.
