Bangladesh: 9 killed, 40 injured in head-on collision between buses

In a tragic accident on Rangpur-Dinajpur Highway in Taraganj upazila of Bangladesh , nine people were killed after two buses collided head-on on the night of Sunday.

40 people were injured in the accident, reports the official news agency BSS.

The collision occurred when a passenger bus from Dhaka rammed into another bus from Ranisonkoil in Thakurgaon. Five passengers were killed on the spot while four others succumbed to the injuries at the Rangpur Medical College Hospital early on the morning of Monday, said the Assistant Superintendent of Police of Rangpur Highway Circle.

Personnel from the nearby fire service station rushed with assistance after coming to know about the accident. The Injured persons were sent to the nearby hospital with the help of the local people and the police.
