Brazil: Tragic Plane Crash Near Sao Paulo Claims 61 Lives

In Brazil, a passenger plane carrying 61 people crashed into a residential community near Sao Paulo last night, killing all on board. Officials said that a home in the local condominium complex has been damaged. However, none of the residents were hurt. According to the Brazilian regional airline, there were 57 passengers and four crew members on board the plane. The regional twin-engine plane took off from Cascavel, in the state of Parana, and was heading to Sao Paulo’s International Airport.

Video shared on social media showed the ATR-72 aircraft spinning out of control as it plunged down behind a cluster of trees near houses, followed by a large plume of black smoke.
