KATHMANDU: The 16-day campaign against gender violence has started nationwide from Monday. The 16-day campaign has begun with the slogan ‘Our Commitment: Solidarity to End Gender-Based Violence.’
During the 16-day campaign against gender violence, various organizations are expected to hold programs such as a symbolic drama exhibition on the discrimination and violence against women and girls, a book analyzing the violence, a large gathering with the public and interested parties, and seminars across the country.
As part of the campaign, a morning procession was held in Biratnagar on Monday morning. During Prabhatferi, the participants went around the city carrying placards with various slogans such as Let’s abandon violence, spread love, and join hands to end gender discrimination.
Representatives of various ministries, representatives of government offices, ward presidents of the municipality, human rights activists, representatives of various non-governmental organizations participated in the dawn fair organized by Biratnagar Metropolitan City.
Considered as a global campaign to control gender-based violence, this day is celebrated from November 10 to November 25, i.e. from November 25 to December 10.
