Tel Aviv, The cessation of hostilities between Hamas and Israel, which was supposed to start today, has been delayed. Israel has extended the time limit for the cease-fire saying that Hamas has not released the names of the prisoners in its possession.
Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu has ordered his army not to start a ceasefire in Gaza until Hamas releases names for the release of prisoners, which is expected to begin at 8:30 a.m. local time in Gaza.
“The Prime Minister has instructed the IDF that the cease-fire, which is scheduled to take effect at 8:30 a.m., will not begin until Israel releases the list of hostages promised to be provided by Hamas,” the Prime Minister’s Office said in a statement.
He is accused of delaying the name transfer by Hamas citing technical reasons. However, he said that he is committed to the ceasefire agreement announced last week. Agency
