Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi has said that China and the European Union are partners rather than rivals.
In a telephone conversation with Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijártó, he said that Hungary is the first European country to sign an intergovernmental cooperation document with China for the “Belt and Road” cooperation.
Wang, who is also a member of the Political Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, said that under the strategic guidance of Chinese President Xi Jinping and Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, the “Belt and Road” cooperation between China and Hungary has yielded fruitful results and set a good example for a new type of international relations.

On the occasion, Wang said China is ready to work with Hungary to ensure the successful construction of the Hungary-Serbia railway and to jointly build a successful model of China-Hungary practical cooperation.
