Kathmandu. The Nepali documentary ‘Devi’, which was selected at DuckEdge Festival in New Zealand, won the best award in the ‘As an Impact’ category. The documentary, which competed in 6 categories, was directed by Suvina Shrestha, a journalist.
66 documentaries were in competition at the festival which was held in Wellington, New Zealand from June 23 to 27. Devi was adjudged the best in ‘As an Impact’ out of 6 categories. “I am very happy to win the award. Nepali Documentary Devi was adjudged the best in the ‘As an Impact’ category. This title is a matter of happiness for everyone,’ said Shrestha expressing happiness.
Shrestha’s Devi was selected from among the films that competed based on the theme of integrity and harmony. Similarly, the documentary has also been selected for the DMZ festival in Korea. The same documentary was previously selected for the West Documentary Awards in Canada and received the Audience Award in the top 20
