Agency. An international energy conference has started in Egypt from Monday to discuss the challenges and opportunities of energy transition. The Egypt Energy Show will run until February 21.
Its aim is to showcase the latest technologies and innovations in the oil, gas and energy sectors. Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah al-Sisi welcomed hundreds of experts and officials who participated in the conference.
The program looked at technology with high cost and investment. Egyptian Petroleum Minister Tarek El-Molla said the conference was held at a time when the world is facing serious climate change threats that threaten the future of sustainable development.
Emphasizing Egypt’s commitment to the global trend of using hydrogen and clean energy sources, he said Egypt 2024 will help create a better future for the energy sector and the human resources involved.
He also called for more aid and soft financing for African countries to achieve a fair and secure energy transition in collaboration with international organizations. The conference will feature more than 80 sessions and 300 speakers covering six main themes including energy security, decarbonization, digitalization, innovation, investment and human capital
