Kathmandu. England has won a spectacular victory over Oman in the ongoing T20 World Cup. England defeated Oman by 8 wickets in last night’s match.
Chasing the target of 48 runs given by Oman, England completed the target with the loss of 2 wickets in 3.1 overs.
Before this, Oman, who batted first, was all out for 47 runs in 13.2 overs. Apart from Shoaib Khan’s 11 runs for Oman, no other batsman managed to score double figures. England’s bowler Adil Rashid took 4 wickets, while Jofra Archer and Mark Wood took 3 wickets each.
The comeback win kept England’s Super Eight chances alive. England have 3 points in 3 games. From Group B, Australia has reached the Super Eight with 6 points after winning the same 3 matches, while Scotland is in second place with 5 points from 3 matches. Similarly, England is in third place with 3 points from 3 matches. Namibia and Oman have been eliminated from this group.
Australia are now scheduled to play Scotland on June 16 and England against Namibia on June 15. Now only if Australia defeats Scotland and England defeats Namibia, England will reach the Super Eight.
