Five people died in Italy due to the heat wave. Record high temperatures were reported across the country.

ANSA news agency reported that four people aged between 70 and 82 died while trying to escape the heat on a beach in the southern Apulia region. Apulia has been one of the most affected regions so far.

The local body issued an ordinance prohibiting construction and garden centers from working in the afternoon until August 31. The fifth deceased is from central Lazio. which is the area around Rome. According to the news agency, it is said that the high temperature may have led to heart attack and death.

A 68-year-old man was found dead on the road in the capital’s suburbs. Lazio’s health authorities, in coordination with the Ministry of Health, have issued a hot weather warning for all five provinces in the region, including Rome, until July 17.
