The government has decided to provide immediate relief of Rs 15,000 each to 2,429 individuals injured during the Gen-Z movement and subsequent protests, Minister for Communications and Information Technology Jagdish Kharel announced today.

The Council of Ministers also resolved to amend Schedule 12 of the Immigration Regulations, 2051 BS, to maintain the trekking permit fee for foreign citizens in the Upper Mustang region at USD 50 per person, or its equivalent in any other foreign currency.

Additionally, the government approved grant assistance of approximately USD 5 million from the Norwegian government and around USD 2.1 million from the Swiss government to support the Provincial and Local Governance Strengthening Program.

Minister Kharel further stated that the government decided to establish the ‘Nepal Stock Exchange Limited Restructuring Recommendation Committee, 2082’, under the coordination of Prakash Jung KC (Kathmandu), to conduct a comprehensive study and submit recommendations for the restructuring of the Nepal Stock Exchange Limited.

A decision was also taken to recommend that the President issue an ordinance to amend the Nepal Special Services Act, 2042 BS. Furthermore, the government appointed Dr. Kalpana Kumari Shrestha (Nawalparasi) as Executive Director of the Shaheed Dharmabhakta National Transplant Center.
