Kathmandu: The government has approved the resignation of Nepali Army Major General Taradhoj Pandey and Secretary at the Ministry of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation, Dinesh Kumar Ghimire.
A meeting of the Council of Ministers held at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers in Singha Durbar today approved the resignation of Major General Pandey to be effective from November 10, said Minister for Communication and Information Technology, Rekha Sharma.
Major General Pandey had resigned from his post, citing personal reasons. Similarly, Secretary Ghimire resigned from his post a month before the termination of his office term, citing personal reasons.
The Cabinet meeting decided to appoint Purna Bahadur Kunwar of Kanchanpur to the post of Member of the E-governance Commission.
The Council of Ministers has also decided to approve grant assistance of Swiss Franc 4.465 million (approximately Rs 650 million) to be provided by Switzerland for the technical education sector, said Minister Sharma who is also the government spokesperson.
Likewise, the meeting decided to assign four human resources including technical to the Commission on Investigation Related to Curb Gold Smuggling as demanded by it.
