Grammy Award for Album of the Year goes to American singer Beyonce

Kathmandu- The famous American singer Beyoncé has finally won the Grammy Award in the ‘Album of the Year’ category. Her eighth album “Cowboy Carter” was awarded the Album of the Year award at the 67th Grammy Awards ceremony held in Los Angeles.
Album of the Year is considered the highest category in the Grammy Awards, which are considered to be the Oscars for the music industry. Although Beyonce has won the most Grammy Awards so far, 35, she has not been able to win the Album of the Year award, known as the Big Award. Beyonce’s joy knew no bounds when she won this award after years of waiting. “I feel completely satisfied and very honored. I have been waiting for this for many, many years,” these were her expressions after winning the award. She won the Album of the Year award 25 years after her first Grammy nomination.
She had previously missed out on the award, which is considered the main category of the ceremony, four times. Beyoncé’s album Cowboy Carter is a country music-based album. The songs on this album are said to reflect the black roots of country music. Beyoncé is also the first black woman to win Album of the Year since 1999. Cowboy Carter also won the award for Best Country Album.
Rapper Kendrick Lamar emerged as another big winner at the ceremony. He won the ‘Record of the Year’ and ‘Song of the Year’ awards for his song ‘Not Like Us’.
Pop sensation Sabrina Carpenter, rapper Deutsch, and Pink Pony Club singer Chappelle Ron won the awards for Best Pop Vocal Album, Best Rap Album, and Best New Artist, respectively. Similarly, Indian-American singer and entrepreneur Chandrika Tandon won a Grammy Award in the Best New Age category for her album Triveni.
The main theme of the Grammy ceremony was the devastating fires that struck Los Angeles last month. The ceremony raised $7 million in financial support for the victims of the fires. The ceremony also paid special tribute to firefighters for their role in extinguishing the fires.
