Kathmandu. Suryakumar Yadav has got the responsibility of captaining the Indian T20 cricket team. He will lead the national team from the upcoming tour to Sri Lanka. The captaincy was vacant after Rohat Sharma retired from T20 internationals. Instead of making vice-captain Hardik Pandya the captain, the Indian Cricket Board chose Suryakumar. It is assumed that the newly appointed coach Gautam Gambhir has a major hand in this.
Recently, Pandya was the vice-captain when India won the T20 World Cup in America and West Indies. However, he has now been dismissed from the position of vice-captain. Schuman Gill has become the vice-captain in Pandya’s place. Recently, Gill captained India in the T20 series against Zimbabwe. Although Pandya was removed as vice-captain, he was included in the T20 team. He will play the role of an all-rounder. He performed well in both bowling and batting in the T20 World Cup.
