Kathmandu: Charge d’affaires a.i. Mr. Lakshuman Khanal, accompanied by Mr Prabin Bhattarai, Second Secretary of the Embassy of Nepal, Doha had a fruitful meeting with Mr. Fahad Badar, a banker and an avid Qatari mountaineer as well as a friend of Nepal at the office of the latter on 9 March 2022 in Doha.
Mr. Badar created history by becoming the first Arab to scale Mt Everest and Mt Lhotse in a single expedition when he achieved the feat on 22 and 23 May 2019.
While exchanging customary greetings, Mr. Khanal expressed his sympathy to him over the loss of his fingers during the Broad-peak summit expedition last year. Mr Badar appreciated the beauty of Nepal and its landscape. He shared his love for the country and its people. He also acknowledged the contributions made by Sherpa guides in Nepal during mountaineering which makes the lives of mountaineers easier than in any other place.
The meeting also covered wide range of subject from tourism to Nepal-Qatar people to people relations.
