Impeachment motion against Chief Justice Cholendra SJB Rana sent to the recommendation committee

Kathmandu: Impeachment motion against Chief Justice Cholendra SJB Rana sent to the recommendation committee.  The move means start of the process to probe charges against Rana, but it cannot be passed without UML’s support.

In the meeting of the HoR on Sunday, there was a discussion regarding the impeachment request. After the discussion, Speaker Agni Prasad Sapkota submitted a proposal to send the impeachment motion to the Impeachment Recommendation Committee, which had already been formed by the House of Representatives. Speaker Sapkota’s proposal was approved by a majority in the HoR.
