Inspection of the border area with China by security officials

Thalara (Bajhang). A government team including the armed police force has inspected the ‘Urai border’ bordering Tibet, an autonomous region in China. After the corona epidemic, the team of Nepali security personnel has reached Uri for the first time.

Armed Police Force Nepal Deputy Superintendent of Police Janakraj Pant, Saipal Rural Municipality Vice Chairman Dolma Tamang inspected the area around Pulan, including the number two auxiliary border post on Nagna Danda in Urai.

Vice Chairman of Saipal Rural Municipality, Dolma Tamang informed that the team reached Urai after walking for three days and said that the No. 2 Pillar at an altitude of 5,200 meters and the surrounding areas were monitored. The team consisted of six government employees, five from Saipal’s Kanda and Dhuli police stations and 18 members of the armed police force.
According to the chief district officer of Bajhang, Bishwamitra Kuinkel, the Urai border crossing will be fully operational from the 16th of June. With the agreement between the government of Nepal and China to gradually open 14 border crossings with China, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Narayan Kaji Shrestha and Vice President of Tibet Autonomous Region Silang Nima jointly announced the re-opening of border crossings on May 12th at Chentang in Sigatse, Tibet.
