In a direct attack on Israel, Iran launched nearly 200 missiles last night sending people rushing to bomb shelters raising fears of all-out war in the region. Iran claimes, the attack was in response to the recent killing of senior Hezbollah and Hamas officials.
Israel’s army radio said, around 180 missiles were fired, most of which were intercepted. A military spokerperson said, no casualties have been reported from last night’s attack adding that no more threats were seen in Israel’s airspace. He added that the Israeli Air Force will strike powerfully in the West Asia.
Prime Minister of Israel Benjamin Netanyahu has warned Tehran, saying that it had made a big mistake and will pay for it. Israel’s Defence Minister said, Iran learned no lessons within the last year.
US President Joe Biden’s administration has pledged unwavering support for Israel while also warning Iran of serious consequences for its attack against the top US ally.
Meanwhile, in an another development, at least six people have been killed and nine wounded in a suspected shooting and stabbing terror attack in Tel Aviv last night. The attack took place moments before air raid sirens began sounding across the country as Iran launched a barrage of missiles. Israeli police said, at least two gunmen were involved in the attack and both the terrorists were neutralised. The shooting took place at Jerusalem Street, next to a light rail train station.
