Kathmandu — Israeli airstrikes killed 17 Palestinians in the northern and central Gaza Strip on Wednesday. Israeli aircraft reportedly struck a house in Jabaliya al-Balad in northern Gaza, killing most of them children, and wounding many others. Two more people were killed in Israeli shelling of a house in al-Bureij camp in central Gaza.
Israeli military spokesman Avichai Adraee issued a statement on Wednesday urging residents of some blocks in the al-Bureij area to immediately move to humanitarian zones before the attack.
Israel is carrying out a large-scale offensive against Hamas in Gaza in retaliation for a Hamas attack on the southern Israeli border on October 7, 2023, in which about 1,200 people were killed.
The Palestinian death toll from the ongoing Israeli airstrikes in the Gaza Strip has reached 45,553. Agency
