Tourists in Sonmarg, located in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district, witnessed the season’s first snowfall on Monday, transforming the hill station into a breathtaking winter wonderland.

The popular tourist destination – renowned for its towering peaks and alpine meadows -woke up under a pristine white blanket as continuous snowfall covered roads, rooftops, and forests. The sudden change in weather sparked excitement among both visitors and locals, many of whom rushed outdoors to enjoy the much-anticipated snowfall.

Visitors were seen taking sleigh rides, building snow sculptures, and capturing the mesmerizing views set against the backdrop of majestic, snow-laden mountains. Several tourists described the experience as magical and dreamlike, expressing delight at witnessing Sonmarg’s serene winter charm.

The timely snowfall has also boosted local tourism, with hoteliers and travel operators hopeful of a strong winter season ahead.
