Malaysia’s new king ascends the throne

Kuala Lumpur. The new king of Malaysia, Sultan Ibrahim Iskandar, has taken over the throne. He is also a billionaire businessman.

65-year-old Sultan Ibrahim Iskandar has said that he will rule fairly and with justice. Malaysia has a unique monarchy in which responsibility for the throne is divided by rotation among the royal families of the nine kingdoms.

Each king is allowed to rule for five years. The current king hails from the Johor province of the country. It is said that he has more than 5 billion rupees. In Malaysia, the king’s role is mainly ceremonial, but he can intervene in the political system in the event of parliamentary deadlock. Agency
