Kathmandu : The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) Alice Albright is coming to Nepal with the MCC Nepal Compact program entering into the implementation phase. She will be coming to Nepal on the 1st of October.
The Nepal Compact Agreement was signed between Nepal and MCC on the 14th of September 2017, which was signed by the then Finance Minister Gyanendra Bahadur Karki and the acting CEO Jonathan Nash at the American Foreign Ministry in Washington DC. There are two projects under the program. One is related to the construction of the Power Transmission Line, while another is related to road repair.
On August 30, 2023, it was announced that Nepal and MCC have entered the implementation phase with the agreement that the preparatory phase of the MCC Nepal Compact has seen good progress. It has been said that the compact program will reach successful completion within a duration of 5 years.
As informed, the delegation including Albright will return on the 5th of October.
