Prime Minister Sushila Karki held a telephone conversation with her Sri Lankan counterpart, Dr. Harini Amarasuriya, on Wednesday evening.

During the discussion, Prime Minister Amarasuriya expressed her gratitude for the US$200,000 financial assistance provided by Nepal, according to the Prime Minister’s Secretariat. The call was made following Nepal’s contribution to support rescue and relief operations for those affected by the recent floods in Sri Lanka. Amarasuriya conveyed her appreciation for Nepal’s timely and generous assistance.

In response, Prime Minister Karki remarked, “As a friendly nation, it is our duty to extend support to others in times of distress. Helping others is both our responsibility and our moral obligation. We stand with Sri Lanka during this challenging period.”
