Nepal Teaching Hospital’s first liver transplant led by Nepali doctor

Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital Maharajganj has successfully performed the first ever liver transplant by a Nepalese doctor.
Even though liver transplantation started in Nepal eight years ago, there was a compulsion to come to a foreign doctor for the transplant. The liver transplant was led by Professor Dr. Ramesh Singh Bhandarele.
AML President KP Sharma Olile called Dr. Bhandaralai this morning to congratulate him for leading the successful liver transplant.

He performed a liver transplant on the wife of 41-year-old Ambani Lai Ambani of Nuwakot. According to Professor Dr. Bhandari, the liver transplant patient has been discharged today.
