Kathmandu: The telecommunications sector spent Rs 9.1 billion on equipment imports and bandwidth payments in fiscal year 2024/25, according to the Nepal Telecommunications Authority. The figure includes Rs 3.54 billion recommended for equipment-related foreign exchange and Rs 5.55 billion for bandwidth dues. This marks a sharp surge compared to the previous year, when foreign exchange recommendations had dipped due to a court dispute, limiting equipment imports to Rs 719.6 million and bandwidth payments to Rs 1.19 billion.
