Nepal U-20 women defeat Yunnan Province 3–1 in friendly match

Kathmandu : Nepal U-20 Women’s Football Team registered a victory in a friendly match organized on the occasion of the Chinese New Year. In the match played on Saturday afternoon, Nepal defeated the team from China’s Yunnan Province by 3–1.

Playing at Dasharath Stadium in Tripureshwor, Nepal’s goals were scored by Sukriya Miya, captain Birsana Chaudhary, and Sajani Syangtan, each finding the back of the net once.

The friendly match was jointly organized by the All Nepal Football Association (ANFA), the Faculty of Physical Education of Yunnan University, and the Nepal Overseas Chinese Association, in coordination with the Chinese Embassy in Nepal and the National Sports Council.

The event was inaugurated by Minister for Women, Children and Senior Citizens Shraddha Shrestha. Also present at the program were Secretary at the Ministry of Youth and Sports Loknath Poudel, National Sports Council member Ramcharitra Mehta, ANFA General Secretary Kiran Rai, along with senior officials from the Chinese Embassy in Nepal.

Prior to the match, cultural performances showcasing the diverse traditions of Nepal and China were also presented.
