Nepal Women’s National Football Team leaving for Indonesia

Kathmandu : The Nepal Women’s National Football Team was bade farewell today as the team is leaving for Indonesia to participate in the first Tri-Nation International Women’s Football Tournament.

General-Secretary of the All Nepal Football Association, Kiran Rai, bade farewell to the 22-member team under the leadership of Captain Anjila Subba.

The tournament would be held in Indonesia from November 26-December 2 where the Nepali team would compete with Indonesia and Chinese Taipei. Sabitra Bhandari (Sambha) and Sabita Rana Magar would not participate in the tournament due to injury.

General-Secretary Rai said, “We adopted club-based structure to advance women football. As a result, we have 10 teams. Some recent international matches have shown that we can achieve excellent results.”
