Nepali Congress candidate Nagesh Koirala has been elected Biratnagar Metropolitan City mayor

Kathmandu: Nepali Congress candidate Nagesh Koirala has been elected Biratnagar Metropolitan City mayor. Koirala secured 30,170 votes. His closest rival Sagar Kumar Thapa of CPN-UML secured 21,455 votes.

Shilpa Karki of CPN-UML has been elected deputy mayor of Biratnagar Metropolitan City. Karki secured 25,680 votes while her closest rival Amrendra Yadav of Janata Samajbadi Party garnered 14,219 votes.
