The Nepali Embassy in Muscat has organized a labour awareness and financial literacy programme for Nepali workers in Oman, providing them with essential information and services.

At the event held on Friday, participants were briefed on the use of artificial intelligence in daily life, physical and mental well-being, the Social Security Fund, activities permitted and prohibited in Oman, workers’ rights, and financial literacy. The programme also included guidance on ensuring a safe and productive lifestyle.

A mobile service camp offering passport and consular services was operated on the occasion. For workers unable to take leave or those traveling from distant locations, a medical team from Al Sama Hospital conducted a free health camp and provided basic health services. Many service seekers expressed happiness that such an extensive programme was held on a public holiday.

Speaking at the event, Ambassador Dornath Aryal said that the 11th meeting of the Standing Committee on Development Diplomacy had taken place with the participation of representatives of various Nepali community associations in Oman. The meeting discussed the embassy’s role, policy reforms, rescue and welfare initiatives for Nepali workers, and programmes to promote tourism, investment, trade, and employment.

Suresh Khadka, President of the Non-Resident Nepali Social Club, submitted a memorandum to Ambassador Aryal calling for a review of the concerned policies.
