Nepali students achieve outstanding results in Cambridge Learner Awards

Kathmandu– Cambridge University Press and Assessment (Cambridge) and the British Council’s International Education Group have announced the winners of the Cambridge Learner Awards for Excellence in Nepal.

The awards celebrate the outstanding academic achievements of secondary school students in Nepal. The awards are based on the Cambridge examination series of November 2023 and June 2024.
More than 48 students from Nepal have received awards for exceptional performance in the Cambridge International AS and A Level examination system.
Two of these students achieved the highest scores in the world. 39 students achieved the highest scores in a single subject in Nepal and 18 students achieved the first position in the country in the November 2023 examination series. In addition, 21 students achieved the first position in the country in the June 2024 series.
According to the education group, the Cambridge Learner Awards are an outstanding programme that recognises the success of students who have taken exams offered by Cambridge International Education, which are offered in over 40 countries.

The world’s best higher education institutions accept Cambridge qualifications and highly value the critical thinking skills, independent research abilities and in-depth subject knowledge that Cambridge students bring to university.
Speaking at the awards ceremony, Vinay Sharma, Senior Vice President, South Asia, Cambridge International Education, said, “Cambridge students are at the heart of everything we do. The prestigious Cambridge Student Awards recognise exceptional performance by students from around the world in Cambridge examinations. The awards recognise the talent and hard work of students and acknowledge the dedication and commitment of their teachers and parents.
Vice President Sharma said, ‘We are delighted that the popularity of Cambridge examinations in Nepal continues to grow, and this year 48 students have won the awards. The award-winning students represent 20 schools in Nepal and cover 35 subject areas at Cambridge International AS and A levels. All these awards demonstrate the high standard of education in our schools.’

Similarly, Pratishtha Thapa Rayamajhi, Director of Examinations and General Manager, British Council, Nepal, said, ‘I congratulate our award winners from the bottom of my heart. Their achievements are a testament to their hard work, determination, and the unwavering support of their parents, teachers and school leaders.
