Kathmandu: Nepal’s tourism sector has experienced a significant resurgence in 2024, with the country welcoming over 1.1 million international tourists, marking an impressive recovery of nearly 13.1% compared to the previous year. The country’s tourism industry, severely impacted by the global pandemic, has shown remarkable resilience, with visitor numbers steadily increasing throughout the year, particularly in the latter half.
According to the Nepal Tourism Board (NTB), a total of 1,147,567 foreign visitors traveled to Nepal in 2024. The December arrival numbers were also strong, with 92,034 international tourists visiting the country, bringing a sense of optimism and confidence for the sector in the coming years. This represents a sharp increase from the 1,014,882 foreign tourists who visited Nepal in 2023, showing the upward trajectory of Nepal’s recovery post-COVID-19.
