Oil prices rise to 88 dollars a barrel

Oil prices today rose to 88 dollars a barrel, extending last week’s gains on the back of a stronger outlook due to an expected economic recovery in top oil importer China this year.

In intra-day trade, Brent crude was trading at 88 dollars and 35 cents per barrel while WTI crude price was at 82 dollars and 25 cents per barrel.
