President Bidhya Devi Bhandari took a ride on Sajha Yatayat’s electric bus from Sheetal Niwas– her official residence– to Patan to visit Madan Puraskar Pustakalaya and Pimbahal pond on Saturday afternoon.

Mayor of Lalitpur Metropolitan City (LMC) Mayor Chiri Babu Maharjan welcomed her upon her arrival at Patan Dhoka. President Bhandari then went to Madan Puraskar Pustakalaya and observed the collections of historical archives.

Senior journalist Kanak Mani Dixit, who is also a patron of Madan Puraskar Pustakalaya, briefed President Bhandari about the historical archives maintained in the library.

President Bhandari then walked up to the Pimbaha pond and observed Malla era music performance on island mandap. Although the President’s Office had sent an official vehicle for her return to office, President Bhandari chose to travel back to her office on the electric bus.
