Patan  : President Ramchandra Paudel has said that development capable of improving citizens’ living standards is the need of the hour.

Addressing a special ceremony held today to inaugurate the newly constructed building of the Lalitpur Metropolitan City, the President stressed that everyone must remain aware of the need to deliver effective services and promote good governance.

“It is the responsibility of the public servants to listen to and address the concerns of citizens,” the Head of State said, adding, “Democracy is not just a system of governance; it is a culture of hearing public voices and delivering according to their aspirations. Political leadership must transform itself in line with the expectations and aspirations of the new generation,” he asserted.

Stating that the younger generation aspires for good governance, the President called on all to contribute to the successful conduct of the House of Representatives (HoR) elections announced for March 5, 2026, so as to address the sentiments of the younger generation and find a way out of the nation’s existing situation by further strengthening the Constitution and the federal democratic republic system.
