Kathmandu. President Ramchandra Poudel has expressed grief over the death of former US President Jimmy Carter.
President Poudel expressed grief over the death of Carter through social media X today, stating that Carter’s contribution to peace, human rights and philanthropy was an inspiration to the world. President Poudel also expressed his condolences to his family and the American people.
Carter, the 39th President of the United States, passed away on Sunday at the age of 100 at his home in Hospice Care in the small town of Plains, Georgia. His wife Rosalynn passed away in November 2023 at the age of 96.
Carter, who conducted diplomatic missions in the 1980s, built houses for the poor in the 1990s. Carter had visited Nepal to observe the first-ever Constituent Assembly elections in Nepal.
