South Korean Prime Minister Han’s impeachment dismissed, reinstated as acting president

Kathmandu– South Korea’s Constitutional Court has dismissed the impeachment of Prime Minister Han Deok-soo. With the court’s decision, he has been reinstated as acting president.
Seven out of eight judges were in favor of dismissing Han’s impeachment. One judge dissented.
With the court’s decision, he will now replace the current president and finance minister Choi Sang-mok, according to international media reports.
Han was impeached by the opposition Democratic Party last December. He was impeached after he refused to appoint three judges to the Constitutional Court.
After his reinstatement, Han thanked the court. “Now I will give my best as acting president. I will stabilize the country’s administration,” he said. Agency
