Swiss entrepreneurs are requested to invest in Nepal

Kathmandu. The government has requested the Swiss government to encourage Swiss entrepreneurs to invest in Nepal. The government has requested the Swiss government to encourage their active participation in the investment conference to be held here next month.
Ganesh Prasad Dhakal, Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, made this call at the meeting of the Nepal-Switzerland Consultative Mechanism held in Bern on Tuesday. Embassy of Nepal in Geneva has informed. In the meeting, discussions were held on the overall aspects of Nepal-Switzerland relations as well as economic, development partnership, exchange of cooperation in multilateral platforms, human rights and climate change and other topical issues faced by the world.
According to the embassy, discussions were held on high-level exchange of visits between the two countries, efforts made by Nepal to upgrade from the list of least developed countries, progress in achieving sustainable development goals, Nepal-Switzerland trade, investment, tourism, science and technology and professional training.
Dhakal, the chief joint secretary of the Nepali delegation, expressed his gratitude to the Swiss government for keeping Nepal as a priority, while the representative of the Swiss government, Heinrich Selenwarg, expressed his commitment to the continuous support of the Swiss government in Nepal’s development efforts.
The mechanism was established in 2015 to discuss mutual assistance. The next meeting of the mechanism will be held in Kathmandu at a time convenient for both parties.
